Lakeview Opportunity Fund
The Lakeview Opportunity Fund is a concentrated and opportunistic multi-strategy fund that combines the best ideas and strategies we have developed in our 20+ year investing careers, with substantial personal investment by general partners. We focus on underfollowed or ignored market areas, such as small and mid-cap value equities, niche Wall Street vehicles, options, and selective shareholder activism. These areas often require a blend of fundamental due diligence and quantitative analysis to uncover opportunities, as they are frequently mispriced and overlooked by institutional investors. A key component of the strategy is selective shareholder activism, where we help companies, generally trading at significant discounts to private market value, unlock shareholder value. When there is excess capacity in an activist investment, we may offer the opportunity to co-invest in individual ideas.
Ari Levy is the founder, President, and Chief Investment Officer of Lakeview Investment Group, a Chicago-based fundamentally driven long/short hedge fund formed in 2005 for the purpose of exploiting inefficiencies at the small and mid-end of the global equity capitalization spectrum.
Prior to founding Lakeview, Mr. Levy served as a Vice President and Share Partner at Advisory Research, Inc., a Chicago-based investment management firm with approximately $3 billion in assets under management at the time of his departure. Prior to his time at Advisory Research, Ari served as an Analyst in the investment banking division of Mesirow Financial. Ari holds a B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University and is an active member of Joel Greenblatt’s Value Investor Club.
