ValueAct Holdings, L.P. (commonly branded as ValueAct or ValueAct Capital) is a San Francisco–based activist hedge fund known for concentrated, long-term positions and deep board-level engagement with portfolio companies.

Jeffrey W. Ubben (born 1961 or 1962) is an American activist investor, philanthropist, and founder of ValueAct Capital, the San Francisco-based hedge fund platform including ValueAct Holdings, L.P., where he serves as named portfolio manager overseeing concentrated, long-term public equity positions with intensive board-level engagement. He earned a B.A. from Duke University and an M.B.A. from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management in 1987, began his career managing Fidelity's Value Fund for eight years, then joined Blum Capital Partners as Managing Partner from 1995 to 2000 before launching ValueAct in 2000 as CEO and CIO, stepping down from the CEO role around 2020 but returning as Founder, Portfolio Manager, and Managing Partner. Ubben has held over 20 public company directorships including ExxonMobil (current), Bayer AG, Acxiom, Gartner, and 21st Century Fox, while chairing boards for Duke University, World Wildlife Fund, and formerly Posse Foundation; he remains active in activism as of 2025, with recent pushes like urging Corbion to explore a breakup
